Tuesdays w/ Norrie
Author: Mitch Albom
Year: 2002
Mitch Albom learnt that lesson: relatively late in life he learnt it at the feet of a small dying man who had been his professor at college. Morrie Schwartz had been a robust and energetic lecturer in Social Psychology in the 1970’s and would always stay in Mitch’s heart as his true mentor, his advisor and his coach. Yet as is the way of the world he hadn’t seen him for nearly two decades.
Mitch had graduated and been thrust into a successful, stressful and demanding career in sports journalism and it was only by chance in 1995 that he heard that his old tutor was dying.
“Tuesdays with Morrie” is simply a chronology of the last couple of months in the life of Morrie Schwartz, or at least of the Tuesday visits that Mitch religiously made to West Newton in Boston where Morrie lived.
