I AM THANKFUL:
FOR THE WIFE
WHO SAYS IT'S HOT DOGS TONIGHT,
BECAUSE SHE IS HOME WITH ME,
AND NOT OUT WITH SOMEONE ELSE.
FOR THE HUSBAND
WHO IS ON THE SOFA
BEING A COUCH POTATO,
BECAUSE HE IS HOME WITH ME
AND NOT OUT AT THE BARS.
FOR THE TEENAGER
WHO IS COMPLAINING ABOUT DOING DISHES
BECAUSE IT MEANS HE IS AT HOME,
NOT ON THE STREETS.
FOR THE TAXES I PAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM EMPLOYED.
FOR THE MESS TO CLEAN AFTER A PARTY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE
BEEN SURROUNDED BY FRIENDS.
FOR THE CLOTHES THAT FIT A LITTLE TOO SNUG
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE ENOUGH TO EAT.
FOR MY SHADOW THAT WATCHES ME WORK
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM OUT IN THE SUNSHINE
FOR A LAWN THAT NEEDS MOWING,
WINDOWS THAT NEED CLEANING,
AND GUTTERS THAT NEED FIXING
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE A HOME.
FOR ALL THE COMPLAINING
I HEAR ABOUT THE GOVERNMENT
BECAUSE IT MEANS
WE HAVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH..
FOR THE PARKING SPOT
I FIND AT THE FAR END OF THE PARKING LOT
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM CAPABLE OF WALKING
AND I HAVE BEEN BLESSED WITH TRANSPORTATION
FOR MY HUGE HEATING BILL
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I AM WARM.
FOR THE LADY BEHIND ME IN CHURCH
WHO SINGS OFF KEY BECAUSE IT MEANS
I CAN HEAR.
FOR THE PILE OF LAUNDRY AND IRONING
BECAUSE IT MEANS
I HAVE CLOTHES TO WEAR.
FOR WEARINESS AND ACHING MUSCLES
AT THE END OF THE DAY
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE BEEN
CAPABLE OF WORKING HARD.
FOR THE ALARM THAT GOES OFF
IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS
BECAUSE IT MEANS I AM ALIVE.
AND FINALLY, FOR TOO MUCH E-MAIL
BECAUSE IT MEANS I HAVE FRIENDS WHO ARE THINKING OF ME.

How to select a right person in the right Job?
Put around 100 bricks in some particular order in a closed room with an open window. Then send 2-3 candidates into the room and close it from outside. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours, and then analyze the situation:
a. If they are counting and recounting the number of bricks
PUT THEM IN ACCOUNTS DEPT.
b. If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks
PUT THEM IN ENGINEERING.
c. If they are arranging the bricks in some other order
PUT THEM IN PLANNING.
d. If they are throwing the bricks at each other
PUT THEM IN OPERATIONS.
e. If they are sleeping
PUT THEM IN SECURITY.
f. If they have broken the bricks into pieces
PUT THEM IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY.
g. If they are sitting idle
PUT THEM IN HUMAN RESOURCE DEPT.
h. If they have thrown the bricks out of the window
PUT THEM IN THE MATERIALS DEPT.
i. If they are clinging onto the bricks
PUT THEM IN QUANTITY CONTROL.
j. If they say they have tried different combinations, yet not a brick has moved
PUT THEM IN SALES.
k. If they have already left for the day
PUT THEM IN MARKETING.
l. If they are staring out of the window
PUT THEM IN STRATEGIC PLANNING.
AND last but not least....
If they are talking to each other and not a single brick has been moved
PUT THEM IN TOP MANAGEMENT

From Maya Angelou
I’ve had a good laugh while learning something today (by the
way, I read this from an O-Magazine) ...and even though we've learned some of
this in life, it would still be worthwhile "reviewing' them and making
sense of our "growing" older (?) or more mature(r?) each day...
I’m posting this even to male friends,...and to
celebrate with the women in their lives. Read on, nice to have on a rainy day (like here in Cebu...). How do you
handle a rainy day, or a lost baggage? or an entangled Christmas tree lights by
the way? Think about it, and grow old gracefully! Take care and live life fully!
Don't Break The
Elastic!!
In April, I interviewed Maya Angelou on her 70+ birthday Maya really is a
marvel who has led quite an interesting and exciting life. I asked her what she
thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was
"exciting." Regarding body changes, she said there were many,
occurring every day...like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which
will reach her waist, first. The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such
a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words. "I've learned
that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it
will be better tomorrow. I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by
the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and
tangled Christmas tree lights. I've learned that regardless of your
relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your
life. I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as
making a "life." I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second
chance. I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt
on both hands; you need to be able to throw something back. "I've learned
that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right
decision. I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.
I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love
a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have
a lot to learn. I've learned that people will forget what you said, people will
forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel."
Please send this to the phenomenal women of your life today. If you do,
something good will happen: You will boost another woman's self-esteem. If you
don't...the elastic will break and your panties will fall down around your
ankles.
