On to 2006 - The Year of the Fire Dog

What did you do in 2005 that you'd never done before?
I learned to buy imported, second-hand leather backpacks from U.K. (Ukay-ukay) because I found them to be more durable and very cheap.

Did you keep your New Years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I’ve achieved some and lost some. My new year’s resolution for 2006 is a bit BIG, HAIRY and AUDACIOUS. But I’ll do my best to accomplish them.

Did anyone close to you give birth?
None, except our black Labrador named “Tisha”. She’s got 11 black puppies in November.

Did anyone close to you die?
None. But my nephew was suspected to have Cancer in September of 2004 and was given 5 more months to live. Right now, he’s 2nd year college and busy bar-hoping on Fridays.

What countries did you visit?
None! I only went to the islands of Boracay and Sumilon. Its like I’m not in the Phils Anyway.

What would you like to have in 2006 that you lacked in 2005?
Time deposit / Savings

What date from 2005 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
February 12 – that was my Mom’s 77th birthday celebration and that was the only time she invited everybody close to her.

What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Would you believe if I say NONE that big!

What was your biggest failure?
Not achieving my department’s annual sales quota. . . .Thanks to all politicians in the country!

What was the best thing you bought?

An original Louie Vuitton Black leather backpack. It’s been with me since then.

Whose behavior merited celebration?
My 12-year-old daughter: She can now ride a Public Utility Jeepney to school and back home. Halleluiah!

Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Again, thanks to all Filipino Politicians especially the opposition!

Where did most of your money go?
Food and utilities.

What did you get really, really, really excited about?
My latest trip to Boracay.

Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? - Sad
ii. thinner or fatter? – Chubby lang
iii. richer or poorer? - Poorer

What do you wish you'd done more?
More socializing and membership to Clubs / Community & Church Organizations. And physical EXERCISE.

What do you wish you'd done less of?
Eating and spending on unnecessary things!

Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
As always. . . . pissed of lang!

What was the best book you read?
By Gabriel Garcia Marquez: One Hundred Years of Solitude

What did you want and get?
I wanted a new Fujitsu Laptop and a 21” LCD monitor: I wasn’t able to acquire 1

What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Not in this blog . . . .I’ll keep it to myself nalang.

What kept you sane?
My lifetime partner and girlfriend.

Who was the best new person you met?
The mayor of Cebu City: Tom Osmeña – very practical person who doesn’t have to please everyone. He is also a very good cook!

Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2005:
"We are simply passing through this lifetime and we ought to make the best in everything we do!"

What was the nicest thing someone told you about yourself:
My daughter, at 12 y.o she told me straight in the eye: Gwapo ka lagi Pa!

What did you like most about yourself this year?
A lot patient and less provoking.

What did you hate most about yourself this year?
My tactless mouth.

Was 2005 a good year for you?
Nope!

What was your favorite moment of the year?
Sunrise & Sunset in Cebu

Where were you when 2005 began?
My hometown Cagayan de Oro City with my daughter INNA, cousins and 77 y.o. mother.

Where were you be when 2005 ends?
My hometown as always.

Do you have a New Year's resolution for 2006?

More focus, exert more effort and have more fun!

How are you different now that the year has ended?
I feel and look younger. Ha ha ha. . . really!

What are your wishes for the New Year?
Good health, more good friends and more wealth to my family and me.

Got this from Alma, who got from Toni, who got it from Ajay... Thanks, girls.

Stop for a TEST:

The Mental Toughness (Hardiness) Test
26 questions, 10-15 minutes

Do you fall apart during stress or do you find that you are stronger than others? The Hardiness Test will help you understand your reaction to stress - whether your personality helps you tough out those difficult times, or leads you to melt down. Psychological hardiness has been shown to reduce the occurrence of illness in reaction to stress; it also is linked to the ability to thrive under pressure in both personal and professional life.

Examine the following questions and respond truthfully. Following the completion of the Hardiness questionnaire, you will receive a detailed report, including your scores on the three distinct personality traits and a detailed advice section.

10 Things You Will Do Before Reaching 60 ?

Here’s another Street-survey for you!

To most of us, 60 is the age to retire in a home away from the rat race, corporate world, urban jungle, etc. To some, it is another phase of a more profound existence. To me, if I were an SUV, it will be a new set of wheels (Re-tire – to put on or mount a brand new piece of functional and rigid rubber) to burn again!

1. Take my daughter Inna to a 3 – day mountain climbing experience every summer.

2. Buy a new set of Cannondale mountain bike and trace back the places I’ve been.

3. Acquire a well-restored Mercedes Benz 190E model for keeps.

4. Buy shares of stocks.

5. Organize a family grand reunion

6. Write a book about my life, loves and friends.

7. Go Sky diving and Bungee jump.

8. Own a 24-hr convenient store w/ a coffee shop below my 3-story residence.

9. Acquire a 4-pack abs

10. Marry my lifetime-partner (girlfriend).

What’s yours?

The Fisherman: Karol Wojtyla

medium_gpii_index.jpg

The question is: Would you agree that Pope John Paul II be declared by Vatican as Saint?

At this time, I would not agree. This is because the pope's sainthood would would elivate him to a higher level that the next vicar to succeed will find it difficult to follow nor equal or surpass what he has done. The successor must at least equal PJP II achievement and this can only be achieve if he remains to be human in the eyes of all mortals.

Wanna' join d AMAZING RACE?

I got this idea from Pinayexpat's Blog. At any rate, if you are asked to join that million $ The Amazing Race, who would you want to be your one partner and why?

As for me, I wanted to pick my life-partner but she's got weak ankles and not suited for long walks and we'll surely be good untill the first pit-stop! So who would you want . . . .?
